Support Guy Restaurant in Paris During The Crisis
This donation campaign stems from the obvious need to provide Guy Sellier with some financial assistance to cope with and avoid the definitive closure of his Parisian restaurant for quarantine reasons after a hectic start end of 2019.
After an international career which led him to Beijing, Shanghai, Delhi, Chicago, Zurich, and Paris, Guy changed pivoted his life in 2015 towards his passion: inspired Franco-Thai gastronomy.
First at Alain Ducasse then at Jules Verne Restaurant (at the Eiffel tower) he built in Southeast Asia, China, Japan, Italy, Spain and France a solid learning path alongside chefs who allowed him build his own palette of flavors with power and nuances.
Guy officiated 2 years in Bangkok for a family of very HNW European industrialists, perfecting his art of hospitality in all circumstances, family, business, face to face and larger events around the most successful mixes of Asia and from Europe.
Far from having set dishes frozen at the limit of style, Guy and his team have chosen to cook only fresh and in limited quantities every day according to the arrivals and productions of small suppliers.
Guy opened the “Coq et l’Elephant” in the 5th Parisian district in October 2019 after 9 months of full renovation. Yet, yellow vests demonstrations diverted from main streets to smaller areas have prevented the restaurant to operate normally on Fridays and Saturdays. The strikes in France in winter 2019/2020 then further added to the challenges; finally all restaurants in France are closed since Monday 16th March.
At best, quarantine should be lifted in May. Yet, the coming economic slowdown will not help and this campaign aims at providing financial relief to Guy for 6 months by covering the restaurant fixed costs
How Will My Gift Be Used
Your gift will be used to cover 6-months term fixed costs as follow (per month):
3 staff full salary w/ social charges (including all social charges) = 9 840 €
Loan interests (not principal)= 545 €
Rent = 2 800 €
Private medical cover 3 staff = 210 €
Security services = 190 €
Insurance = 160 €
In total for 6 months, this campaign aims at collecting 82 500 €, with a first milestone of 10 000 € on the 11 May when lockdown is removed in France (not for restaurants yet). Your gift will enable him to weather the troubled time ahead. Guy will still be paying back the principal of the debt contracted for his restaurant out of his own pocket.
Please don’t think that the helping measures announced by the government and the banks are grants. They mean a nitty-gritty administrative process and are just meant to DELAY commercial rents and some of the social charges.
Any contributor contributing more than 200 € will be deemed a qualifying contributor and will enjoy a meal (lunch or a diner) for 2 after the restaurant has re-opened and is back in normal operating mode. Guy will set-up specific treatments for outstanding qualifying contributors!!!
Thank You For Your Kind Help!!!
